Fic: On Champagne and Dancing

Title: On Champagne and Dancing
Author: tari3/tari3_fic
Prompt: Marriage
Format and word count: One-Shot, 873
Rating: G
Genre: romance, fluff
Summary: Neville and Hannah share a dance at a wedding.
Author's Notes: I wrote this a few months ago, in celebration of a certain pairing becoming canon in an interview with JKR. I got permission from the mods to post it here, as it goes with the challenge nicely.

Many thanks to my beta, katieay.

fic: Coming Back

Title:  Coming Back
Author:  kdsander
Prompt: Marriage
Format and word count: One shot (though at this point it could likely develope into a chapter fic.)
Rating: PG
Warning: Deathly Hallows Spoilers
Genre: General/Drama/romance
Summary:  Audrey Fraser is a muggle-born.  This never bothered her Hufflepuff housemates or most of ther classmates in general, but four years after leaving school Audrey faced a sort of prejuce she'd never expected.  One year after the fall of Voldemort the Ministry is getting back on track and Audrey returns to the wizarding world to find an unexpected friend.
Author's Notes: (Marriage plays a very small part in my story.  I hope that this is alright.  The rules never stated that the Hufflepuff had to be getting married, only that it had to involve a Hufflepuff main character and marriage.  If this is a problem let me know and I'll remove it.  Enjoy.  Sorry no tags.  It would not allow me to tag it.)

Hello, everyone!

This is just your friendly mod stopping by to remind you that the deadline for the challenge is coming up.

All entries are due by 11:59 pm EST March 31st.   You have slightly under a month.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have a question, need an extension, or would just like some help.  My e-mail is lanicat2 [at] yahoo [dot] com.

fic: Three Weddings and a Funeral

Wow, that was quick. :|

Title: Three Weddings and a Funeral
Author: el_em_en_oh_pee
Prompt: The Badger take on marriage
Format and word count: One-shot (~2000 words)
Rating: PG-13 (for a few swearwords)
Warning: Angst, character death
Genre: Romance, Angst
Summary: (Ernie/Tracey, Tracey/Theodore, Zacharias/Ginny, Hannah/Susan, mentions of Ginny/Seamus) He shifted nervously, patting his pocket every so often. It was still there (as it had been, for the past fifteen times), but it always served to check again.
Author's Notes: Um, I've never seen Four Weddings and a Funeral, so I sort of just made a play off the title, rather than the actual movie. The different sections in this are largely unrelated, and in a sort of reverse chronological order. Also, thanks to acidpop25 for talking me through some of this, and capitol_barbie for always inspiring me. ♥ (ALSO, all of these characters are canonical, however minor. So.)

Challenge Now Open!

The first challenge of the year is now open for posting!

Theme: Marriage

If you have any questions or comments, reply to this post or send an e-mail to me at lanicat2 [at] yahoo [dot] com.

Intro post, and Upcoming Challenge!

Hello everyone!

We're el_em_en_oh_pee and oddsbobs, the newest mods here at badgerchallenge! We're excited to be here, and have a lot of new ideas for this community.  We want to bring Hufflepuff into the mainstream of HP fandom.  We hope that everyone is ready to write!

Since the community is going through a bit of a makeover, expect to see some changes.  As you may have noticed, some mod posts have already been updated.  This is so that we can change them as needed, and any comments will go directly to one of us.  Sorry if this has flooded your f-list... they apparently don't allow backlogging in communities.

The Frequently Asked Questions post has changed locations.  However, the only difference in the post itself is that challenges are now going to be two months long.  Also updated are the Suggest a Theme and Previous Theme posts.  (Don't worry, we've kept the old theme suggestions for safekeeping!)

Right now, we're gearing up for our first challenge of the new year.  It is going to start February 1st, and run for two months.  In order to better organize the challenge, we'd like to know how many people would be interested.  Please leave a comment if you want to participate.  Don't forget to spread the word... the more involved, the merrier.

This round is going to cover February - which means Valentines day - and March - which means, well, March.  Therefore, we thought we'd follow this clear theme of romance and make the first challenge of 2008 the badger take on marriage. Pick a character and write a fic dealing with marriage, engagements, weddings, marital bliss (or lack thereof) - anything goes, so long as nuptials are in the mix.

There will be a more detailed post on February 1st, including how to format your post and any fic/art/icon requirements.

Please feel free to leave us suggestions for the community (or the challenge).  This community will only work if it works for all of you!

Suggest a Theme

Here's your big chance!  Desperately want to see more Susan Bones fics?  Want to see some art where all the HP characters are really hard workers?  Then suggest a theme!  Simply respond to this post with your idea and it will be taken into consideration.  Can't guarantee that it will be used, but it will be looked at.  If your theme is chosen, we'll let people know on the prompt post!  And then you can bask in all the fics/art/icons that result from your theme.

Got a question? Chances are the answer is behind the cut!
